Child Safety
Our service is committed to the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children. We uphold a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and meet our statutory duty of care in accordance with the Victorian Child Safe Standards, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
We recognise that all children have the right to be safe, respected and heard. In line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, we actively educate children about their right to safety, support them to identify and respond to situations where they feel unsafe, and encourage them to express their views on matters that affect them.
Our practices promote the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, the inclusion of children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and the safety, participation and inclusion of children with additional needs. We maintain clear professional boundaries and uphold mandatory reporting responsibilities to prevent and respond to abuse and neglect.
